Universal Mind Systems is a short film and art project by Mirco Blondin that makes the concept of the truth a
subject of discussion and takes a closer look at peoples interaction with it. It is talked about the fact that various
definitions of the truth can shape perception and change living conditions of real human beings. Ultimateley,
defining and redefining the truth establishes the structure of the world. To connect the idea of the short film with
the real world even more, a participation program called UMSP² was launched.
You can request your favourite TOOL via mail for a maximum of 14 days (provided on loan). When you got your
chosen TOOL, you can take photos with the prop that illustrate everyday use. Your photos can show yourself,
scanning whatever you like to know more about.
This can picture your most intimate thoughts or absolute ran dom things — it's completely up to you. For example,
Point- Of-View-Shots with your hand holding one of the TOOLs while scanning something or someone are greatly
appreciated. But of course, you can get creative in another way, too. Take a picture of THIS TOOL lying in your car.
Take a photo scanning your pet. Or your family members. Or, if you are a judge, replace your gavel with one of the
TOOLs. Show someone else using THIS TOOL or scan the news program on TV. You don't understand art? Scan
the paintings. Possibilities are endless. It does not matter if your photos are perfectly staged or lousy as hell.
The aim is to collect all submitted photos and to publish them. This may reflect real life circumstances or open up
yet another bubble of reality. Either way, it pretends to show a cross section of peoples attitudes towards the truth
in the 2020s. UMSP² investigates its subject in a playful way, so it does not claim to prove scientific integrity, but it
seeks people to reflect on their everyday encounters with the truth.
When you submit one or more photos, you can choose in which way you want to be credited or if you want to stay
anonymous. You can also decide to provide captions to your photos, if you like. It depends on the number of partici-
pants, where and how all submitted photos will be shown. Options include a publication on the Universal Mind
Systems website and the social media account of the artist. In case of further options that occur, you will always
be asked for permission to publish your photos.
If it sounds appealing to you, you can get further information on how to receive your TOOL by clicking "Join UMSP²".
